Ali Mahdavi
Ali brings to Spinnaker more than 10 years of experience in the financial and business services sectors. His expertise includes investor relations, investment counseling, finance, and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to founding Spinnaker, Ali was a partner at Genoa Management Limited.
Ali also served as Investor Relations Officer and Director of Special Projects for Minacs Worldwide, a TSX-listed business process outsourcing company. He developed and implemented a strategic investor relations plan that successfully garnered significant analyst coverage and interest from both institutional and retail shareholders.
As the company spokesperson, Ali represented the firm at investment conferences and institutional presentations across Canada. He successfully developed comprehensive positioning, tracking, targeting, analysis, and communications tools to highlight the value of the company to prospective investors and analysts. Ali also managed strategies for funding alternatives and equity and debt opportunities in private and public markets.
Ali gained his professional expertise in the Canadian banking and investment industry as a senior financial advisor at both the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and the Bank of Nova Scotia. He managed high net worth client portfolios and was recognized with a President’s Award for the significant investments he attracted.
Ali graduated from York University with a Bachelor’s degree in economics and business and a minor in French. He is a member of the Canadian and National Investor Relations Institutes. Educated in France and widely travelled, Ali is fluent in English, French, and Persian and is comfortable representing and dealing with even the largest multi-national corporations.
